The new Premier Jour by Nina Ricci is a sharp and refreshing floral on my skin, something that I tend to crave when the weather is just tropical hot.

I made contact with  this fragrance a few years ago. It was a part of my friend collection, however she never wore it. She was forever faithful to her signature Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana at that time. So she never dared to try something else. It is a shame because this scent is actually quite beautiful.

On the day that i tested Premier Jour, I had one man approach me in the mall to compliment me on how fresh and lovely I smelt. To my nose, i have to say that the most dominant accords wore mandarin orange, orchid, sandalwood, musk and quite a slight hint of vanilla.

Premier Jour falls into the fresh and clean floral fragrance category. The top notes are a citrus due to the mandarin orange, and the dry down is pleasantly smooth and sweet due to the woodsy vanilla blend. This scent is fairly light in terms of space, so I doubt it could offend anyone within the close proximity.

It is quite an uplifting fragrance i must say, the reason why I personally enjoy it more during the Spring and Summer. I also love its simplistic and sharp approach. Overall this is a pleasant surprise.
